Podemos afirmar que é apenas um erro 404 encontrado quando tenta acessar o site americano do Sonic 4. Mas o site japonês e do Reino Unido continuam online.
A Sega americana apenas deu uma explicação sobre o problema nos fóruns:
"O site tem movido um pouco no back-end, que é a razão pela qual não está aparecendo. Em um curto prazo, nossa equipe arrumará o site do Sonic 4 e no dia seguinte, vai funcionar perfeitamente. É apenas uma questão de redirecionar agora. Logo, postarei de novo quando tudo estiver bem"

We’ve gotten a couple news tips in to inform us about the Sonic 4 official website being unavailable to web surfers today.
We can affirm as of the time of this article’s publication that this is only impacting the US website, with a 404 not found error seen when trying to access the main page. The Japanese site and the UK site remain online.
Sega of America community manager RubyEclipse has just posted an explanation of the problem on the Sega forums.
The website got moved around a little in the back-end, which is the reason it’s not showing up. No crazy ninja-updates or anything.
In the short term, our team here is going to get sonicthehedgehog4.com back up and working, and in the next day or two any other url’s should also work properly. It’s just a matter of redirecting right now.
We’ve got people on it now and I’ll post again when all is good to go!
